There are a few things that my kids are constantly asking for while growing up in Israel. SNOW, SNOW, and SNOW. Unfortunately, it does know in certain areas once every couple of years and a few months out of the year in the north of Israel. So, what is a father supposed to do? The next best thing, we go ice skating a few times a year. This year we went to the ice skating rink that the city of Jerusalem sets up every summer. This time it was set up in Pais Arena from the end of July to the end of August in what usually is a basketball court. The complex was open Sundays – Thursdays from 10 am to 11 pm, and Fridays from 10 am to 4 pm—entrance allowed for children aged five and above. Skating sessions begin on the hour.
The largest ice complex in Israel is made of natural ice brought in from Austria and spreads over an area of 1,700 square meters. Visitors will be able to rent skates, and younger children can take advantage of the free skating aids shaped like bears and seals. Warm clothing is recommended! Ticket prices: NIS 65 for one hour of skating.
