The TRUTH About Family Photo Shoots

The tradition in our family is to capture family photos before the holidays. The Jewish New Year was last weekend, and so the annual challenge was on. Since this is the first holiday since I have owned the DJI MAVIC MINI, I decided I wanted to get a dronie of my awesome crew. Knowing that it would be quite a task, I set up my DSLR to record the entire behind the scenes activities and I was not disappointed.

I put together this quick video for all of those parents out there that struggle every day to capture those moments in life so they last forever. Don’t give up! Just be patient, take what you can get, and know that their essence will be in every shot.

Some tips for capturing those memories that can last forever:

1. 1. Stay Calm
  2. Be Patient
  3. Don’t have a short timeslot, take your time
  4. Don’t be afraid to offer a prize
  5. Perfection is not always worth the fights
  6. Find an interesting location
  7. If possible, explain the shots you want before shooting
  8. Snap often (film is no longer a 24 shot limit)
  9. Make it a competition (the last one in position gets the last slice of pizza)
  10. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
