The first of many videos showcasing beautiful northern Israel. The Banias Waterfall is a part of the Banias Nature Reserve and one of 2 attractions at the foot of Mount Hermon. The Banias Waterfall is the largest waterfall in Israel. The water is fed from the Hermon Stream at the top of Mount Hermon and is extremely cold. Swimming and entering the water are also prohibited which came to us as a bit of a shock.
There are a few trails down to the waterfall from the entrance of the park depending on your available time, skill, and preference. This video will take you down the main trail, the walkway over the stream, and finally to the waterfall.
The trail is approximately 45 minutes long with amazing views of Nimrod’s Fortress, mini waterfalls, fish, wildlife, multiple types of trees, and more.
We even found a school of very active fish.
A couple of crabs hanging out on the rocks and giant tree roots. Can you find it in the picture below? Let me know in the comments!
The kids had a blast watching the mini waterfalls, nature, plants, and rocks. The entire area is so tranquil.
Honestly, the walk next to the stream is extremely beautiful and I could have stayed there for a few hours taking pictures. Here are just a few.
